Following the visit of the government delegation to Paris, agreements worth about EUR 1.5 billion were reached. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a Government meeting on December 16.
According to the Head of Government, the International Standing with the Ukrainian People Conference, organized at the initiative of the Presidents of Ukraine and France, alone attracted about EUR 1 billion.
“Part of it is equipment that will be transferred in the near future to restore the energy infrastructure of Ukraine,” Denys Shmyhal said.
A number of agreements worth more than EUR 530 million were also signed for the development of the digital sphere and rapid restoration of infrastructure. Among them are an agreement on the supply of French rails for Ukrzaliznytsia worth up to EUR 38 million and a memorandum between Ukravtodor and the French company Matiere on the supply of prefabricated bridges worth EUR 25 million.
“A memorandum was signed with the International Finance Corporation, whereby we have clear prospects of receiving USD 2 billion for the projects of private and state-owned companies in such areas as trade financing for Ukrainian banks, agricultural sector, and small and medium business,” the Prime Minister added.
Denys Shmyhal noted that during the negotiations in Paris three topics were in focus: nuclear safety, energy, and resources for recovery.
