The Government has approved a third allocation of UAH 183 million for the renovation of school cafeterias. An additional 10 schools in 10 regions will receive funding, including military lyceums. Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced.

To date, through the joint efforts of the state, communities, and international partners, 1,668 canteens have already been modernized—that is more than 20% of such facilities nationwide.

As the Prime Minister noted, the renovation of school cafeterias is part of systemic changes in the field of school nutrition, launched in 2020 at the initiative of First Lady Olena Zelenska. These changes include a systematic upgrade of equipment, revised nutritional standards for children, and the introduction of a modern menu.

"Our goal is for all students in grades 1–11 in all regions to receive free hot lunches starting September 1. High-quality and balanced nutrition directly affects a child’s well-being, concentration, and ability to learn and develop, especially under the stress of wartime. This is an important investment in the future of the country,” emphasized Yulia Svyrydenko.
