  • At a meeting with German Federal Minister of Finance, Prime Minister of Ukraine called for the exclusion of russia from the FATF

    During a meeting in Berlin, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Federal Minister of Finance of Germany Christian Lindner discussed increased financing of defense support for Ukraine and the exclusion of russia from the International Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

    The parties discussed the proposal of the German Government to increase the budget for defense assistance for Ukraine from €697 million to €2 billion in 2023. On behalf of the state and all Ukrainians, Denys Shmyhal thanked Federal Minister Christian Lindner for advocating this initiative.

    The Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance of Ukraine told the German side about the urgent need to restore the energy infrastructure and raised an issue of further financial cooperation in the long run as well as Germany's support for the allocation of macro-financial assistance from the EU.

    Denys Shmyhal thanked the Federal Republic of Germany for supporting sanctions against the aggressor and emphasized the need for a decision to exclude russia from the FATF.
