Prime Minister: Social support, education reform and improving health services are Government’s priorities
Reforming the social insurance system, education, public investment, expanding the National Health Service package, and ensuring transparent privatisation – Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced the main achievements of the Government at a press conference marking the fifth anniversary of its work.
Denys Shmyhal called the opening of the land market one of the achievements: “This is a historic event for the restoration of the constitutional rights of citizens. We have put the state and community lands in order. Now these lands are leased out through online auctions, and last year we received almost UAH 344 million from transparent land leases.”
He also stressed that all processes related to participation in privatisation auctions had been digitised. And in 2024, Ukraine achieved record results in privatisation in 10 years – the total amount of proceeds amounted to UAH 9.9 billion.
According to the Prime Minister, the Government continues to reform public investment. In particular, the DREAM ecosystem has been launched, and funding for the Single Project Pipeline in the amount of UAH 224.2 billion is envisaged in 2025.
The reform of the social insurance system has been successful, with the transfer of all payment and subsidy functions to the Pension Fund and the introduction of high-quality social registers.
“We carry out indexation. We pay all social payments. We support everyone who needs it,” the Head of Government stressed.
The Cabinet of Ministers is also working on changes in education. In particular, as Denys Shmyhal pointed out, the reform of the New Ukrainian School and vocational education is continuing. Work on the autonomy of universities is underway, and grants for students have already been introduced. Free meals have also been introduced in primary schools.
“We are improving healthcare, expanding National Health Service packages so that all Ukrainians have access to quality medical services. We have eliminated medical and social examination commissions and introduced a new system for assessing a person’s daily functioning: 1,500 expert teams, which include more than 6,000 specialists, are working. We continue to increase the availability of medicines,” the Prime Minister said.
He stressed that more than UAH 30 billion in compensation had already been accrued under the eVidnovlennia programme.
“Despite all the difficulties, we continue to work and change Ukraine for the sake of people and our common future,” said Denys Shmyhal.
