Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal discussed urgent issues and government priorities with Ambassadors of the European Union. The meeting took place in Kyiv on 31 May.

In particular, the parties addressed the opening of negotiations on Ukraine's membership in June, the implementation of reforms, the confiscation of russian assets, the Peace Formula, energy and weapons.

"It is important for us to use our partners' weapons on the aggressor's territory. This will help strengthen our capacity to defend ourselves. I am grateful to the countries that have already publicly declared this opportunity," said Denys Shmyhal.

Another priority highlighted by the Prime Minister was artillery munitions. The Head of the Ukrainian Government thanked the Czech Republic for its initiative and expressed hope for rhythmic and continuous supplies of shells. The participants also touched upon the issue of increasing the production of Ukraine's domestic weapons.

"Ukraine needs to strengthen its air defence. At least 7 Patriot systems and F-16 aircraft will significantly help protect people and critical infrastructure," said Denys Shmyhal.

The participants of the meeting paid special attention to the energy sector. The Prime Minister thanked the partners for providing the necessary equipment to restore power facilities. He also called for consideration of increasing the capacity to import electricity from 1.7 GW to 2.2 GW.

Denys Shmyhal thanked the EU countries for their steadfast support and understanding of the urgent needs to continue the fight for our common goals.
