The process of passing military medical and health expert commissions should be as convenient and fast as possible. This was discussed at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovych, Minister of Health Viktor Liashko, Commander of the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Major General of Medical Service Tetiana Ostashchenko, representatives of the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Digital Transformation, Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, and MPs.

“We continue to implement the principle of ‘certificates follow the military’. The e-queue for passing military medical commissions has already been launched. However, its implementation is too slow. At present, the number of remotely registered appointments by the chief medical officers of the units is only 18%,” the Head of Government noted.

The Prime Minister was briefed on the problems in this area and instructed the Ministry of Defence to speed up the work on the necessary regulations and to immediately conduct additional training and inform the chief medical officers about remote registration for the military medical commissions.

Also, according to the Ministry of Defence, the injury certificate and leave certificate will be converted to an electronic form in the near future. This option is expected to be launched in August. Denys Shmyhal stressed the importance of carrying out the relevant work on schedule.

In addition, the Head of Government instructed the Ministry of Defence to increase the working hours of territorial recruitment centres: “They must receive people every day during all working hours. It is unacceptable for the military to have to queue for several hours.”

As a result of the meeting, all relevant ministries and agencies received relevant instructions.

“Our military are waiting for these changes so that unnecessary bureaucracy does not distract them from defending the state and destroying enemies,” said Denys Shmyhal.
