Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal inspects work of veterans' hospital in Lviv
On June 19, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal inspected the work of the Lviv Regional Hospital for War Veterans and the Repressed named after Yuriy Lypa in Lviv. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Minister of Health Viktor Liashko and Head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration Maksym Kozytskyi to visit the medical institution that helps Ukrainians affected by the war.
"Experienced doctors work here and provide medical care in many areas - from treatment to rehabilitation of military and civilians. The hospital is constantly being updated: a modern rehabilitation center has been opened, departments are being repaired, equipment is being updated, and the surgery unit is being modernized," noted Denys Shmyhal.
He added that the institution receives high-tech equipment. It is purchased both at the expense of the state budget and with the support of international partners - the World Bank, the Global Fund and as part of humanitarian aid.
In addition, according to the Prime Minister, the hospital receives more funding from the state every year through the medical guarantee program, which in turn expands the range of free services for patients.
"Thousands of Ukrainians return from the front with injuries and need long-term treatment and rehabilitation. Having a modern medical facility is not only about quality medicine. It is about treating those who defend our country with dignity. And about our common concern that every male and female defender has a chance to return to full life," emphasized Denys Shmyhal.
