Law enforcement agencies are now performing inappropriate functions, interfering with the work of state bodies and processes of private economic activity. This was announced by Minister of Finance Oleksandr Danyliuk March 29 during a panel discussion "Building a free economy. Is there a place for law enforcement agencies in it?" within the framework of the Ministry of Finance Policy Talks project.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oleksandr Danyliuk, NABU Director Artem Sytnyk, Business Ombudsman Algirdas Shemet, co-founder of The Nova Poshta Viacheslav Klymov, Executive Director of the Center for Combating Corruption Daria Kaleniuk, CEO of YouControl Serhii Milman and Vice-Chairman of the National Police Ihor Kupranets.
During the panel discussion, government officials, experts, representatives of businesses, NGOs and the media tackled the measures needed to create a favorable investment climate in Ukraine, an effective fight against financial crime and the role of law enforcement agencies in a liberal economy and a democratic state.
