From January through mid-May 2026, as part of the Ray of Hope project, 10 healthcare facilities have begun generating electricity independent of the grid. The total installed capacity of the solar power plants commissioned is 770 kW.

Currently, another 94 facilities are at various stages of implementation, with 3 healthcare facilities seeing the final stage and 141 medical facilities at the technical design stage.

The commissioning of 10 medical facilities was made possible thanks to international support. Specifically, 9 facilities were funded by Germany, and another one supported by Sweden.

It should be noted that the Ray of Hope program is a joint initiative of the European Commission, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, implemented within the framework of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund and coordinated by the Energy Community Secretariat.

The program’s goal is to enhance the energy resilience of healthcare facilities by equipping them with solar panels, energy storage systems, and other equipment to ensure a guaranteed power supply and uninterrupted operation even under challenging conditions.
