More than 8,700 families will receive assistance in the amount of UAH 6,500
The policy to support families with children with disabilities in subgroup A continues.
The Government has endorsed a decision allowing UAH 56.6 million in donor aid to be allocated for one-time payments to such families—to cover basic needs and daily care for the children. This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
According to her, more than 8,700 families will receive assistance in the amount of UAH 6,500 in nine regions: Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia.
“This is additional targeted support provided at the expense of donors in cooperation with UNICEF as part of the provision of humanitarian and other assistance to the civilian population,” the Head of Government noted.
Yulia Svyrydenko noted that of the total amount, nearly UAH 49.9 million came from the main donor source within this cooperation, while another UAH 6.7 million consisted of donor funds previously raised as humanitarian aid, as well as a resource from a special State Budget fund.
Payments will be made through the Pension Fund to recipients’ bank accounts within several months. For many families raising children with disabilities in subgroup A, this is significant support for covering daily needs.
The Prime Minister thanked international donors and partners for this assistance to Ukrainian families. “The Government continues to work on increasing such support,” emphasized Yulia Svyrydenko.
