More than 3.6 million Ukrainians have applied for UAH 1,000 under the ePidtrymka (eSupport – ed.) program, which started on December 19 this year. The program was initiated by the President of Ukraine and aims not only to encourage Ukrainians to be vaccinated against COVID-19 but also to support businesses that have suffered most from the pandemic, including culture, sports and passenger transport industries.
According to the terms of the program, all adult citizens of Ukraine who have passed the full course of vaccination against COVID-19 can receive a UAH 1,000 assitance. Today the service is available only in the Diia mobile application. The second phase of the program (2-3 quarter of 2022) will propose an alternative accrual mechanism, which is currently being developed.
To receive funds, Ukrainians need to do the following steps:
The resource can be spent on a membership card to the gym or fitness club, tickets to the cinema, theater, museum, railway and air tickets for travel to Ukraine, books. The list of services is planned to be gradually expanded, and the Government is currently working out a mechanism for providing UAH 1,000 for the purchase of medicines in pharmacies to Ukrainians aged over 60.
Funds are provided for 4 months from the date of receipt, they can be used both online and offline (by cashless payment through the terminal at the company's checkout counter). Banks will recognize the category of goods or services when paying, so it will be impossible to spend money for purposes other than those provided by the program, transfer them to the card, withdraw cash.
