Since the beginning of the year, more than 11,000 Ukrainian agricultural enterprises have received UAH 54.6 billion in bank loans for the development of farms. Of these, more than 8,500 enterprises received UAH 32.3 billion in loans under the Government’s Affordable Loans at 5-7-9 programme.

Agricultural enterprises in the following regions received the largest amount of loans under various programmes:

• Kyiv region – UAH 10.2 billion (802 enterprises);
• Vinnytsia region – UAH 5.1 billion (1,231),
• Dnipropetrovsk region – UAH 4.85 billion (733);
• Kirovohrad region – UAH 4.3 billion (1,507);
• Odesa region – UAH 3.8 billion (979).

The following regions received the most loans under the Affordable Loans at 5-7-9 programme:

• Kirovohrad region – UAH 3.7 billion (1,208 enterprises);
• Vinnytsia region – UAH 3.4 billion (963);
• Odesa region – UAH 3.24 billion (789);
• Kyiv region – UAH 3.06 billion (652).

Background

The Affordable Loans at 5-7-9 programme simplifies access to bank lending for micro and small businesses. Farmers can receive a loan of up to UAH 90 million. Loans are provided at 5-9% per annum, depending on the loan category and type of business entity.
