Ukrainians are actively making use of payments and opportunities under the state Winter Support programme. It serves as an additional tool of assistance for more than 18 million citizens during the winter period. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.

Under the UAH 1,000 payment scheme, Ukrainians have already used more than UAH 12 billion in assistance. Most frequently, the funds are directed towards utility bills – 79.8%. The payments are also used to purchase medicines – 6.2%, and food in supermarkets – 5.5%.

Under the UAH 6,500 payment programme for vulnerable categories of the population, more than 374,000 Ukrainians have already received funds. The Government continues to transfer payments under this programme.

In total, 406,000 people have applied to participate in the programme, and the transfer of funds is ongoing. More than 64% of the received funds have been spent by citizens on purchasing clothing for the whole family. Among other main areas of expenditure are medicines and pharmacy goods – around 12%.

Ukrainians have also already booked more than 180,000 tickets under the Government’s 3,000 km Across Ukraine initiative. The total distance travelled using these tickets amounts to approximately 80 million kilometres.

Since the launch of the programme in the Ukrzaliznytsia app, around 580,000 users have registered.

“Thanks to the initiative, Ukrainians can travel between frontline, central and western regions, maintaining contact with loved ones despite the distance,” noted Yulia Svyrydenko.

The 3,000 km Across Ukraine initiative is being implemented as part of the Winter Support programme. More information about all the programmes within Winter Support for citizens and businesses is available on the platform zyma.gov.ua
