  • Prime Minister expects average wage in Ukraine will rise to UAH 10,000 in 2019

    Average salary in Ukraine in 2019 will amount to UAH 10,500, however this figure may be higher if economy will grow. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman announced on  air of one of the national TV channels.

    "We forecast the average salary to the tune of UAH  10,500 , but I am convinced that this figure will be higher," the Prime Minister stressed.

    He noted that concerning remuneration of labor the government is guided only be one thing to create  conditions under which Ukrainians will return home and work in Ukraine. "I advocate decent wages for Ukrainians so that they do not have to leave and work abroad. And we will ensure high salaries for people", Volodymyr Groysman stated.

    Background

    According to the results of 11 months of 2018,  average salary in Ukraine exceeded UAH 9,000, the growth made up 12%. At an inflation rate of 9,8%, this growth means that the growth of incomes of population exceeds the growth of prices.
