Minister of Energy German Galushchenko took part in the opening of the Ukrainian-Slovak Energy Forum "Integration of Ukrainian and European Energy Markets", organized by the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy, Housing and Communal Services.
Herman Haluschenko stressed that for the Ministry of Energy synchronization with ENTSO-E is one of the key priorities in the work. This is an important component of energy security in Ukraine and the continent as a whole. In addition, it will contribute to the formation of a modern electricity market in Ukraine.
Synchronization is scheduled for 2023, and next year is expected to test the UES of Ukraine in an isolated regime.
Technical preparation takes place according to the approved schedule.
"We work effectively with NPC Ukrenergo, preparation is going according to plan. Therefore, the technical parameters of synchronization will be provided," the Minister said.
Meanwhile, the synchronization process also requires the implementation of appropriate regulatory policies.
"Synchronization requires clear European market rules. I am happy to assert that both the state executive bodies and the parliamentarians have a common understanding of this issue," Herman Haluschenko stressed.
The topic of integration of Ukrainian and European energy markets also has a geopolitical aspect.
"The fact of synchronization with ENTSO-E is a kind of the point of no return. Then we will be able to assert that we are part of Europe's energy system. Obviously, we expect any resistance to the synchronization process at the foreign policy level. But for our part, we understand that we have no other way, we need to move confidently to achieve the result - integration with European markets," summed up the Minister of Energy.
