The Government has allowed the import of certain types of goods under the customs regime of processing in the customs territory of Ukraine for further production of special vehicles at Ukrainian enterprises. In particular, this refers to the manufacture of special purpose vehicles for use in Ukraine by units of the National Police, medics, the State Emergency Service, law enforcement agencies and military formations. It is also planned to export such special vehicles to the EU countries. The decision was made at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on 4 June.
"The Government's priority is to support Ukrainian producers, in particular by simplifying the import of goods for further processing and manufacturing of value-added products. After all, added value with the possibility of further exporting such products to the EU markets is a condition for strengthening the national economy. At today's meeting, the Government cancelled duties for a group of goods that will be used to manufacture special vehicles to support the work of national special services. The development of industry, processing and increase in the production of Ukrainian products is what the Government is working on as part of the Made in Ukraine policy together with businesses and international partners. A strong economy is the key to our defence capability," commented Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine - Trade Representative of Ukraine.
