Support for Ukraine and partnership is an unquestioning priority for the European Union, and the EU believes the path of reforms that already bear fruit will prolong. European Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmström stated during a meeting in Kyiv with Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman.

"Whatever happens, you must know that the EU is a partner and a friend of Ukraine. Under your leadership, the Government has triggered a number of reforms that are obvious to us. Our trade relations are actually growing. It is important for Ukraine to continue reforms, in the framework of the Association Agreement with the EU, in the context of IMF cooperation programs", said Cecilia Malmström. "I want to confirm: support and partnership with Ukraine is an unswerving policy."

In turn, the Head of Government noted that we have a large and important agenda. "Our relations are developing, but we need to accelerate. We have ensured macroeconomic stability, and this suggests that the issue of mutual trade is of tremendous importance to us. I am satisfied with our meeting and I am pleased that our cooperation prolongs as we follow our path", added the Prime Minister.

As was reported the EU is number one trade partner for Ukraine. The EU's share in total exports of goods exceeds 42%. At present, the parties are discussing the possibilities of expanding trade relations and making appropriate amendments to the Association Agreement and the Free Trade Agreement, which will be mutually beneficial for both Ukraine and the European Union.
