  • Ministry of Economic Development and Trade to approve projected volume of educational quotas for specialists training in 2019

    On May 16, 2019, Stepan Kubiv, First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, held a meeting on the formation of state order for the training of specialists, scientific, scientific-pedagogical and vocational professions, as well as for further training and retraining in 2019.

    According to the results of the meeting, it was determined that the volume of state order will be formed according to the branches in line with the propositions of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MES). Meanwhile, the scholarship support for the list of priority specialties will be determined with a coefficient of 2.0 and in the amount of 70% of the number of students who study under the state and regional quotas.

    The First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv emphasized, "Qualified specialists are the future of a strong innovative economy. The state bears responsibility for the most effective distribution of the educational quotas to satisfy the urgent needs of the spheres of social life. Accordingly, we must continue the practice of prohibiting the redistribution of state order between industries at lower levels, in particular on the ground, except for those cases provided for by the laws of Ukraine."

    Participants of the meeting also supported the initiative of the Ministry of Education and Science, which provides an opportunity for the priority specialties to apply the waiting list in a broad competition, as well as the practice of the Ministry of Education and Science to provide an additional coefficient to the competition score (sectoral coefficient) and provide an increased rural coefficient in priority specialties.
