As a result of the russian terrorist attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, 30 settlements in Kherson region and 31 settlements in Mykolaiv region remain flooded, while the water level in the Dnipro River is falling. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a Government meeting on 13 June.
“More than 3,700 people have already been evacuated. I am very grateful to the rescuers, medics, police and volunteers who are selflessly helping people, often under russian shelling,” the Prime Minister said.
Denys Shmyhal also expressed his gratitude to the international partners who have already responded to the disaster. 13 countries are providing assistance to Ukraine under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. According to the Head of Government, this includes dozens and hundreds of boats, rafts, motor pumps, generators, containers, water tanks and filters, and many other items. The Prime Minister thanked in particular the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Canada and others for the assistance already provided.
