On March 8, the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Turkey signed an agreement in Istanbul on the establishment of a system for the electronic exchange of preliminary information on goods and vehicles moving between the parties.
Over the past year, the State Customs Service has been actively working on the preparation of this Agreement and the development of technical specifications for it.
The Agreement was signed during the visit of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the Republic of Turkey.
Based on the Agreement, the customs authorities of Ukraine and Turkey will create a system of electronic exchange of preliminary information, with the help of which a predefined set of data will be exchanged in electronic format.
The information exchange will be carried out directly between the State Customs Service of Ukraine and the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Turkey.
The information received by the customs authorities of Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey will be used in the risk analysis system, will help speed up the movement of goods and vehicles across the borders of both countries, reduce the impact of the human factor, and counteract customs offenses.
Shortly, the State Customs Service of Ukraine and the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Turkey will begin practical implementation of the Agreement by organizing the exchange of information in an automatic mode.
