Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of National Unity of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov and Minister of State and Minister attached to the Minister of the Interior of France François-Noël Buffet took part in an intergovernmental meeting on the reception and integration of temporarily displaced Ukrainians.
During the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their common desire to establish a Ukrainian Unity Hub in France, which was confirmed by signing a Joint Declaration.
In addition, the officials discussed key aspects:
- the future of temporary protection and the prospects for Ukrainians returning home;
- support mechanisms for Ukrainians in France, including access to healthcare and education, as well as simplification of the procedure for the recognition of Ukrainian driving licences;
- employment and social adaptation opportunities.
Oleksiy Chernyshov thanked his colleagues for their frank dialogue and solidarity with Ukraine.
"France has provided shelter to tens of thousands of our citizens, and we highly appreciate this assistance. We hope it will continue until the war is over. At the same time, we are looking to the future: the arrival of French companies in Ukraine to participate in the reconstruction can be an important incentive for the return of Ukrainians who have gained education and valuable professional experience in France. We are working to make this process as efficient and mutually beneficial as possible!" the Deputy Prime Minister stressed.
