The Memorandum of Cooperation between the State Migration Service of Ukraine (SMS) and the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) creates the preconditions for joint projects, programs and facilitates deepening bilateral cooperation. Head of the State Migration Service of Ukraine Maxym Sokoliuk emphasized, commenting on the Memorandum signed in Vienna in the framework of his visit to the Republic of Austria on September 25.

By signing the Memorandum, the parties emphasized their readiness to further develop cooperation in the field of migration, in particular - on combating illegal migration, readmission, citizenship, on refugees and other categories of migrants defined by law.

The SMS established cooperation with this European organization several years ago, thereby creating an effective mechanism for building Ukraine's migration system, facilitating forging contacts in the EU's Eastern Partnership region and jointly seeking solutions to migration crises.
