Ministry for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, posted 05 February 2019 16:34

Minister for Veterans Affairs Iryna Friz and Dr. Thomas Lothar Weiss, International Organization for Migration Chief of Mission in Ukraine agreed to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation.

Dr. Thomas Lothar Weiss presented a pilot project aimed at reintegrating veterans of anti-terror and united forces operations (ATO/UFO). The project should help them with the employment and start-up of their own business.

"For us, this project with veterans is a pilot one. However, more than 30 countries are carrying out similar projects and have positive results. We hope that with your Ministry we will be able to fully implement  it in Ukraine," the Chief of the Mission said.

This said project will last for 18 months until June 2020 and it will be put into practice in Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk and Kyiv regions and envisages holding of training courses and professional retraining.

Minister Iryna Friz became the initiator of the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation.

"We are ready to support this project. We can also provide information assistance. As experience shows, sometimes the program does not yield results because of the banal lack of information about it. We are keen on joining the process and help veterans get information and join your trainings," Iryna Friz underscored.
