Recalculation of pensions from July 1 for seniors who had a long employment history but low wages is another step to retrofit the pension system. And the Government is currently engaged in the improvement of the social security of the Ukrainian pensioner. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said this on air of the Ukrayina television channel.
The PM stressed that this is the fifth recount and it is eligible not only for pensioners with small pensions, which now will make up at least UAH 2,000 but Chernobyl victims as well. For some categories of liquidators, pensions will double, the Head of Government assured.
"I am a social Prime Minister, and it is a matter of great concern for me. I want us to accelerate in this matter", said Volodymyr Groysman.
The PM also announced recurrent increases in pensions - from January 1, 2020, by 25% for military pensioners, and an automatic recalculation starting March 1, 2020.
Background
Starting July 1, pensions for 33,000 military retirees and liquidators will increase by UAH 2,000 – 5,000. If the size of their pension amounted to UAH 3,800 – 5,500, it will be raised to UAH 5,800 – 10,500.
Moreover, pensions will improve for 43,000 seniors who got disability as a result of war (anti-terror operation and operation of united forces). If the pension rate was UAH 3,500 – 4,400, it will amount to UAH 5,600 – 10,100.
