On April 22, 2018, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin took part in a special meeting ("outreach session") dedicated to the situation in Ukraine within the framework of a meeting of G7 Foreign Ministers.
In the course of the meeting, a special emphasis was placed on issues pertaining to the new challenges posed by hybrid Russian aggression, necessity to preserve the sovereignty and restore the territorial integrity of our country, preservation of sanctions on Russia and support of reforms being implemented in Ukraine.
The parties also discussed prospects of a peacekeeping mission in Donbas.
"Ukraine is perceived as an integral part of the free world and common democratic space. Our G7 partners see an attack on Ukraine as an attack on free, democratic world", Pavlo Klimkin emphasized.
During the summit the Foreign Minister had a series of meetings with his counterparts, in particular, with Acting Secretary of State John J. Sullivan, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany Heiko Mass and Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Boris Johnson.
In the course of a meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian community further steps aimed to consolidate the international community in support of our country and counteract the Russian aggression were touched upon.
