On April 29-30, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin will be on an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Pavlo  Klimkin will hold talks with his counterpart Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt Sameh Hassan Shoukry and he is also scheduled to have meetings within the framework of the program of the visit.

The said visit, which will occur as a result of a telephone conversation (April 12, 2018) between President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi is intended to intensify the Ukrainian-Egyptian cooperation in all areas of common interest, to discuss ways to deepen relations in the economic field and the state of preparation for the next meeting of the Ukrainian-Egyptian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.

The parties are planning to focus on cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism, as Ukraine holds the leading positions by the number of its citizens visiting Egypt (over 770.000 over the last year).

The Ukrainian side commends the efforts made by the Egyptian side to ensure the safety of Ukrainian tourists in this country. The recommendations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs  to the Ukrainian citizens traveling to Egypt from April 18, 2018 do not contain a general warning to refrain from traveling to this country, but the Ministry asks citizens to be cautious and take into account the state of emergency in Egypt.
