On June 23, a coordination meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. The Government officials discussed a number of key issues, including the heating season, support for defense, transparency of charitable fundraising and the budget for 2026.

According to Denys Shmyhal, preparations for the autumn-winter period are ongoing. The meeting's participants reviewed information on the status of heating network repairs in frontline cities. The Head of Government gave relevant instructions to the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development and the Ministry of Energy on this issue and informed that the situation was under constant control.

In addition, the information on the current needs in the security and defense sector was heard.

"The Government constantly allocates funds directly to the brigades to purchase the necessary supplies. Up to UAH 20 billion remains on their accounts - these funds should be used promptly, in particular for drones, vehicle repairs and other needs of the front line. The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Finance have received the relevant tasks," the Prime Minister emphasized.

The issue of controlling the transparency of charity fundraising was also discussed. In particular, the Head of Government commissioned the Ministry of Social Policy to prepare proposals to strengthen their reporting and transparency.

The discussion also touched upon the implementation of the law on multiple citizenship, namely the next stage - the preparation of bylaws. This work is currently being done jointly by the Ministry of Unity, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In the context of the discussion of the eVidnovlennia program, Denys Shmyhal noted that a decision is being prepared to increase the amount of compensation for owners of damaged housing that is an architectural monument. The Ministry of Communities and Territories Development and the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications have been tasked with developing the mechanisms.

The officials also discussed the preparation of the state budget and financial strategy for the next year.

"The total need for external financing this year is USD 39.3 billion. More than USD 20 billion has already been raised. Of this amount, USD 15.8 billion has been received under the ERA mechanism, USD 3.7 billion from the EU, almost US4 00 million from the IMF, and USD 50 million from the World Bank. There are agreements to fully cover the financial needs for this year. We discussed the financing of the state budget, needs and agreements with partners for 2026. The Ministry of Finance has been assigned the relevant tasks," the Prime Minister emphasized.

He underlined that the Government continued to work systematically to strengthen defense, support citizens and provide economic stability of the state.
