Heating season 2025-2026: residents of frontline areas to continue receiving humanitarian aid in the form of LPG

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has extended the implementation of an experimental project for the distribution of humanitarian aid in the form of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to household consumers in frontline regions. The decision was made as part of the Government’s Action Plan for 2025.

“Due to russia’s armed aggression and the destruction of distribution networks in frontline regions, some consumers unfortunately lack access to central heating and gas supplies. However, Ukraine continues to care for its citizens and employs various support mechanisms. This project has already yielded positive results, and we will continue its implementation into the next heating season,” emphasised Svitlana Grynchuk, Minister of Energy of Ukraine.

The initiative was implemented during the 2024-2025 heating season in frontline territories. According to the Government’s decision, this heating season the project has been expanded to include household consumers in Zaporizhzhia region and extended until 1 May 2026.

It is envisaged that the needs of consumers will be met through state-owned companies as well as international partners.

To ensure a successful 2025-2026 heating season in frontline areas, the Ministry of Energy has initiated the continuation of this experimental project for the distribution of humanitarian aid in the form of LPG to household consumers in frontline regions.
