Day 589 of the russian full-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to defend in the east and the south of Ukraine, conduct the offensive on Melitopol axis, and offensive operations on Bakhmut axis. As they destroy the enemy, they liberate the temporarily occupied territories and consolidate new positions. 

During the day of October 4, there were 57 combat engagements. The enemy launched a total of 5 missile, 60 air strikes, 47 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian targets across Ukraine. Unfortunately, the russian terrorist attacks have killed and wounded civilians. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed or damaged.

In addition, last night, the occupants attacked Ukraine using 29 Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs. The Ukrainian air defense intercepted 24 enemy Shaheds. 

Air strikes hit Synkivka, Podoly (Kharkiv oblast) Kuzemivka, Novoselivske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Siversk, Spirne, Khromove, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Toretsk, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Avdiyivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Zolota Nyva, Urozhaine, Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast), Mala Tokmachka, Orikhiv, Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast), Kozatske, Mykolaivka, Olhivka (Kherson oblast).

More than 140 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson oblasts came under artillery fire.

Pivnich operational-strategic group, Volyn and Polissya axes: no significant changes.

Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes: the adversary maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy troops conduct active subversive activities in order to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened axes. The adversary increases the density of minefields along the state border in Belgorod oblast (russia).

Khortytsia operational-strategic group, Kupyansk axis: the axis: the Ukrainian defense forces repelled an enemy attack in the area north of Zybyne (Kharkiv oblast). 

Lyman axis: the Ukrainian defense forces repelled 7 enemy attacks in the areas east of Makiiyvka (Luhansk oblast) and northwest of Dibrova (Donetsk oblast).

Bakhmut axis: the adversary made unsuccessful attempts to regain the lost ground in the vicinities of Hryhorivka, Klishchiyivka, and Andriyivka (Donetsk oblast). The Ukrainian defense forces continue assault operations south of Bakhmut (Donetsk oblast), inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the enemy, and consolidate their new positions.

Tavria operational-strategic group, Avdiyivka nd Maryinka axes: the adversary made unsuccessful attempts to regain the lost position in the vicinity of Avdiyivka (Donetsk oblast) and to improve its tactical situation in the vicinity of Lastochkyne (Donetsk oblast). The enemy launched more than 15 unsuccessful attacks in the vicinities of Maryinka and Krasnohorivka (Donetsk oblast). 

Shakhtarske axis: the Ukrainian soldiers repelled enemy attacks in the vicinities of settlements of Zolota Nyva and Rivnopil (Donetsk oblast). Zaporizhzhia axis: the Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled enemy attacks in the vicinities of Novodarivka, Verbove, and Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast).  

The Ukrainian defense forces continue their offensive operation on Melitopol axis, offensive (assault) operations on Bakhmut axis, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, continue consolidating their positions and exhausting the enemy. 

Odesa operational-strategic group, Kherson axis: the Ukrainian defense forces continue to conduct counter-battery fire, destroy the warehouses, and successfully strike behind the enemy lines.

During the day of October 4, the Ukrainian Air Force launched 13 air strikes on the concentrations of troops, weapons, and military equipment of the adversary.

The Ukrainian missile troops hit 1 command post, 3 concentrations of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, 10 artillery systems, and 1 ammunition depot of the adversary.
