  • Space Agencies of Ukraine and Poland sign Joint Statement on Cooperation on Ukraine's Path to Membership in the European Space Agency

    The delegation of the State Space Agency of Ukraine under the chairmanship of Acting Chairman Volodymyr Benia is participating in the events of the 74th International Astronautical Congress (IAC). The IAC takes place in Baku (Azerbaijan) from 2 to 6 October 2023 and is the most significant event of the year for the world space community.

    Within the framework of the event, the State Space Agency of Ukraine and the Polish Space Agency (POLSA) signed a Joint Statement on Cooperation on Ukraine's Path to Membership in the European Space Agency (hereinafter - the Joint Statement).

    The document is based on the Memorandum of Understanding between the SSA and POLSA in the field of peaceful exploration and use of outer space dated 20 April 2015, the Executive Agreement under the Memorandum signed on 9 November 2022 and the Protocol of the working meeting between the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine and POLSA.

    The joint statement confirms the mutual interest of the parties to expand cooperation, strengthen bilateral relations, Ukraine's aspirations to become a member of the European Space Agency, as well as support for the SSA in identifying measures and steps that will facilitate the dialogue between Ukraine and the European Space Agency.

    The signing ceremony was supported by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
