Day 526 of the russian full-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

Last night, the russian federation launched yet another air strike on Ukraine, using Iranian Shahed combat UAVs. Information on the aftermath of this terrorist attack is currently being updated.

During the day August 2, the russian federation launched an attack with Iranian Shahed combat UAVs. Ukrainian air defense intercepted 23 attack UAVs. 

The enemy launched 5x missile, 89x air strikes, and 67x MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, there were civilian casualties. 

The likelihood of further missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains very high.

During the day of August 2, there were 44 combat engagements.

Volyn and Polissya axes: no significant changes. 

Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes: the adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Volfyne, Stepne (Sumy oblast) and Kozacha Lopan (Kharkiv oblast). The adversary fired mortars and artillery at more than 25 settlements, including Senkivka, Karpovychi, Novovasylivka (Chernihiv oblast), Volfyne, Krasnopillya, Rozhkovychi, Stara Huta, Hrabovske (Sumy oblast), Tymofiivka, Veterynarne, Okhrimivka, and Petropavlivka (Kharkiv oblast).

Kupyansk axis: the adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, and Kyslivka. Kamyanka, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Novomlynsk, Fyholivka, Kindrashivka, Krasne Pershe, and Kupyansk (Kharkiv oblast) came under artillery and mortar fire of the adversary.

Lyman axis: the adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Serebryanka, and Spirne (Donetsk oblast). The settlements of Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast),  Verkhniokamyanske, Spirne, and Torske (Donetsk oblast) were shelled with artillery.

Bakhmut axis: the enemy made unsuccessful attempts to regain the lost ground west of Kurdyumivka, south of Andriyvka, and west of Klishchiivka (Donetsk oblast). The occupants launched air strikes in the vicinities of Fedorivka, Maiske, Druzhba, and New York. More than 10 settlements, including Vasyukivka, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Bila Hora, Chasiv Yar, and Ivanivske (Donetsk oblast), suffered from enemy artillery shelling. 

Avdiyivka axis: the enemy launched an air strike in the vicinity of Avdiyivka.

Novokalynove, Stepove, Berdychi, Lastochkyne, Avdiyivka, and Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast) came under artillery fire.

Maryinka axis: the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the russian offensive in the vicinity of the city of Maryinka. The adversary fired at the settlements of Krasnohorivka, Oleksandropil, Hostre, Maryinka, Paraskoviivka, and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast).

Shakhtarske axis: the adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Staromaiorske and Makarivka. The enemy made unsuccessful attempts to regain the lost ground west of Staromaiorske and north of Urozhaine. The invaders fired artillery at more than 15 settlements, including Vuhledar, Vodyane, Blahodatne, Storozheve, Rivnopil, and Zelene Pole (Donetsk oblast).

Zaporizhzhia axes: the adversary focuses its main efforts on preventing further advance of Ukrainian troops. The enemy launched air strikes in the vicinities of Hulyaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, and Pyatykhatky (Zaporizhzhia oblast). The enemy fired artillery at more than 15x settlements, including Novodarivka, Bilohirya, Hulyaipole, Zaliznychne, Pyatykhatky, and Kamyanske (Zaporizhzhia oblast).

Kherson axis: the adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Odradokamyanka and Antonivka. More than 20 settlements came under artillery fire, including Vesele, Dudchany, Dniprovske, Tyahynka, Lvove, Kizomys, and the city of Kherson.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations on Melitopol and Berdyansk axes, consolidating their positions, and conducting counter-battery fire.

The russian occupiers continue to mobilize convicts. Thus, the so-called “Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Donetsk People’s Republic” has ordered and internal troops are being recruited from persons serving sentences or detained for minor- to moderate gravity crimes. It has also been established that wounding in combat does not expunge the convicts from criminal record, and that suspicions of persons under investigation will be lifted only upon demobilization. The terrorists were tasked with intensifying their work on fighting crime and replenishing the internal troops by 1,000 people suspected of committing criminal offenses. At the same time, the collaborators-police officers who went over to the side of the russian federation will be re-certified after they have completed combat missions as part of the composite battalions of the internal troops of the so-called “Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Donetsk People’s Republic.”

During the day of August 2, Ukrainian Air Force launched 9 air strikes on the concentrations of troops, weapons, and military equipment, as well as 3 air strikes on the anti-aircraft missile systems of the occupiers. Also, the Ukrainian defenders intercepted 9x operational-tactical level reconnaissance UAVs of the enemy. 

During the day of August 2, the Ukrainian missile and artillery troops hit 21 artillery systems at their firing positions, 1 radar station, 3 command posts, 1 concentration of weapons and military equipment, 2 air defense assets, 1 concentration of troops, and 2 ammunition depots of the enemy.
