Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of February 16, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 3,143 (182 children out of this number, 179 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 129,108.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 915 persons, 150 patients died, 6189 persons recovered. There have been conducted 39401 testing (18948 using the PCR method, 11339 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 - 9114).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 1276618 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 1122968 people recovered;
  • 24542 people died;
  • 6570806 testing have been conducted.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.

The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect yourself from infection.
