Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of January 20, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 4,383 (161 children out of this number, 239 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 250,031.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 2,011 persons, 212 patients died, 14,501 persons recovered. There have been conducted 45,790 testing (26,792 using the PCR method and 18,998 using the ELISA method).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 1,172,038 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 900,749 people recovered;
  • 21,258 people died;
  • 6,009,914 testing have been conducted.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.

The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect yourself from infection.
