  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of May 18, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 4,095 (235 children out of this number, 162 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 229,282.

    Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 948,332 people have been vaccinated. On May 17, 2021, 17,232 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 330 people got CoviShield vaccine, 5,324 – CoronaVac vaccine, 5,184 – Comirnaty vaccine, 6,394 - AstraZeneka.

    During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 999 persons, 285 patients died, 17,751 persons recovered. There have been conducted 61,110  testing (30,693 using the PCR method, 13,378 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 17,039).

    During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

    • 2,160,095 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
    • 1,882,344 people recovered;
    • 48,469 people died;
    • 9,882,447 testings have been conducted.
