Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of December 29, in Ukraine, there have been officially confirmed 6,988 (324 children out of this number, 337 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 337,446.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1,298 persons, 232 patients died, 16,106 persons recovered. There have been conducted 43,585 testing (25,965 using the PCR method and 17,620 using the ELISA method).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 1,037,362 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 681,835 people recovered;
  • 18,081 people died;
  • 5,511,179 testing have been conducted.

The largest number of confirmed cases in the last 24 hours was registered in Kyiv city (953), Odesa region (729), Poltava region (644), Lviv region (555), Zaporizhia region (514).

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
