Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of February 19, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 6,531 (418 children out of this number, 285 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 128,723.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 2304 persons, 120 patients died, 5857 persons recovered. There have been conducted 61215 testing (26095 using the PCR method, 15567 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 - 19553).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 1293672 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 1139977 people recovered;
  • 24972 people died;
  • 6651624 testing have been conducted.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.

The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect yourself from infection.
