  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of March 16, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 9,642 (474 children out of this number, 313 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 216,284.

    Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 62,083 people have been vaccinated, of whom 62,083 have received 1 dose, and 0 have completed vaccination (received 2 doses).

    On March 15, 2021, 8,928 people were vaccinated against COVID-19, of which 8,928 persons were vaccinated with 1 dose, vaccination was completed (2 doses) - 0 people.

    Vaccination was performed by 193 mobile immunization teams.

    During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 2,005 persons, 264 patients died, 6,202 persons recovered. There have been conducted 76,509 testing (38,738 using the PCR method, 18,275 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 19,496).

    During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

    • 1477190 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
    • 1232209 people recovered;
    • 28697 people died;
    • 7416142 testing have been conducted.

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
