Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of February 26, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 8,003 (475 children out of this number, 312 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 144, 547.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 2762 persons, 146 patients died, 4244 persons recovered. There have been conducted 78 264 testing (36809 using the PCR method, 16271 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 25184).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 1333844 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 1163555 people recovered;
  • 25742 people died;
  • 6845974 testing have been conducted.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.

The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect yourself from infection.
