  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of July 7, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 49,607 COVID-19 cases, 22,193 people recovered, 1,283 patients died. During the 24 hours, 564 new cases have been confirmed.

    The number of registered active cases as of July 7 is 26,131 people. The largest number of active patients per 100,000 population was registered in Chernivtsi (282.1), Lviv (211.5) and Zakarpattia (184.4) regions.

    Now 4,216 people are undergoing inpatient treatment. There are 106 people out of this number having severe symptoms and undergoing treatment with the use of artificial lung ventilation machines. A total of 13,243 people needed hospitalization, 415 patients needed to undergo mechanical ventilation treatment.

    In total 3,569 cases among children and 7,046 cases among healthcare workers were recorded. 36,364 patients have been undergoing outpatient treatment.

    A total of 731,858 samples in Ukraine were tested using PCR method and 282,960 samples using ELISA method. During the 24 hours, 9,343 samples were tested using PCR method.

    As of July 7, coronavirus disease was registered:

    • Vinnytsia region – 1,979 cases (1,366 recovered);
    • Volyn region – 2,788 cases (873 recovered);
    • Dnipropetrovsk region – 1,116 cases (981 recovered);
    • Donetsk region - 686 cases (173 recovered);
    • Zhytomyr region – 1,469 cases (994 recovered);
    • Zakarpattia region – 3,458 cases (1,029 recovered);
    • Zaporizhia region – 598 cases (454 recovered);
    • Ivano-Frankivsk region – 2,744 cases (1,1185 recovered);
    • Kirovohrad region - 659 cases (561 recovered);
    • Kyiv – 5,665 cases (1,848 recovered);
    • Kyiv region – 2,809 cases (1,522 recovered);
    • Lviv region – 6,445 cases (971 recovered);
    • Luhansk region - 85 cases (64 recovered);
    • Mykolaiv region - 461 cases (318 recovered);
    • Odesa region – 1,919 cases (832 recovered);
    • Poltava region - 325 cases (277 recovered);
    • Rivne region – 4,228 cases (2,195 recovered);
    • Sumy region - 321 (258 recovered);
    • Ternopil region – 2,108 (1,301 recovered);
    • Kharkiv region – 2,416 (1,237 recovered);
    • Kherson region – 196 (184 recovered);
    • Khmelnytsky region - 842 (602 recovered);
    • Chernivtsi region – 5,032 (2,299 recovered);
    • Cherkasy region - 678 (519 recovered);
    • Chernihiv region - 576 (145 recovered).

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
