Update on the spread and prevention of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of December 29, 2021 in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 5,930 (373 children out of this number, 137 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 28,303,694 vaccines have been made.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 14,671,169 people have been vaccinated. On December 29, 2021, 117,042 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 26,767 – CoronaVac vaccine, 67,650 – Comirnaty vaccine, 4,308 – AstraZeneka, 0 – Janssen, Moderna – 18,317.

Vaccination was carried out by 883 mobile immunization teams, 3,357 vaccination points and 461 vaccination centers. 

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1,747 persons, 278 patients died, 10,369 persons recovered. There have been conducted 79,560 testings (32,605 using the PCR method, 6,018 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 40,937).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 3,660,620 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 3,460,249 people recovered;
  • 95,690 people died;
  • 16,757,339 testings have been conducted.
