Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of August 19, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 1,600 (112 children out of this number, 46 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 7,952,028 vaccines have been made.

The number of vaccinated persons from COVID-19 from the beginning of the campaign makes up 4,971,752. On August 19, 2021, 129,027 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 44,376 - CoronaVac vaccine, 50,728 – Comirnaty vaccine, 9,517 – AstraZeneka, Janssen – 0, Moderna – 24,406.

Vaccination was carried out by 870 mobile immunization teams, 2,759 vaccination points and 326 vaccination centers.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 597 persons, 26 patients died, 882 persons recovered. There have been conducted 48,942 testings (23,478 using the PCR method, 6,454 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 19,010).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 2,271,826 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 2,200,000 people recovered;
  • 53,394 people died;
  • 11,773,325 testings have been conducted.
