Update on the spread and prevention of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of January 05, 2022 in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 6, 632 (240 children out of this number, 182 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 28,701,176 vaccines have been made.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 14,778,321 people have been vaccinated. On January 05, 2022, 104,844 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 25,108 – CoronaVac vaccine, 60,632 – Comirnaty vaccine, 2,442 – AstraZeneka, 0 – Janssen, Moderna – 16,662. 

Vaccination was carried out by 823 mobile immunization teams, 3 318 vaccination points and 438 vaccination centers. 

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 2,028 persons, 187 patients died, 9,121 persons recovered. There have been conducted 70,059 testings (32,812 using the PCR method, 4,943 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 32,304).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 3,689,291 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 3,500,914 people recovered;
  • 96,896 people died;
  • 16,898,750 testings have been conducted.
