Update on the spread and prevention of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of December 28, 2021 in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 5,454 (353 children out of this number, 98 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 28,186,652 vaccines have been made.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 14,639,498 people have been vaccinated. On December 28, 2021, 131,129 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 30,756 – CoronaVac vaccine, 75,501 – Comirnaty vaccine, 4,876 – AstraZeneka, 0 – Janssen, Moderna – 19,996.

Vaccination was carried out by 855 mobile immunization teams, 3,333 vaccination points and 441 vaccination centers. 

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1,153 persons, 307 patients died, 12,352 persons recovered. There have been conducted 75,995 testings (33,039 using the PCR method, 6,256 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 36,700).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 3,654,690 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 3,449,880 people recovered;
  • 95,412 people died;
  • 16,724,734 testings have been conducted.
