Update on the spread and prevention of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of February 22, 2022, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 25,062 (2,427 children out of this number, 665 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 31,617,039 vaccines have been made.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 15 712 650 people have been vaccinated. On February 22, 2022, 62 935 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 9 868 – CoronaVac vaccine, 48 019 – Comirnaty vaccine, 870 – AstraZeneka, 0 – Janssen, Moderna – 4 178.

Vaccination was carried out by 914 mobile immunization teams, 3,266 vaccination points and 417 vaccination centers.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 3 140 persons, 297 patients died, 37 432 persons recovered. There have been conducted 113 396 testings (47 206 using the PCR method, 5 691 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 60 499).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 4 783 835 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 4 023 033 people recovered;
  • 105 229 people died;
  • 19 477 406 testings have been conducted.

Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of September 22, 2021, № 981 "On Amendments to Certain Acts of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine" amended the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of December 9, 2020 № 1236 "On introducing quarantine and restrictive anti-epidemic measures to prevent the spread of the territory of Ukraine of the acute respiratory disease COVID-19 caused by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2" (hereinafter - Resolution № 1236), extending the quarantine until December 31, 2021. At the same time, from September 23, 2021, a yellow level of epidemic danger will be established throughout the country.

The Ministry of Health reminds that following three simple rules of anti-epidemic safety - keeping a distance, wearing a mask and using hand sanitizers - saves lives.
