Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of August 18, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 1,560 (90 children out of this number, 35 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign7,823,001 vaccines have been made.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 4,914,255 people have been vaccinated. On August 18, 2021, 120,004 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 49,926 – CoronaVac vaccine, 55,920 – Comirnaty vaccine, 9,222 – AstraZeneka, 2,300 – Janssen, Moderna – 2,636.

Vaccination was carried out by 843 mobile immunization teams, 2,745 vaccination points and 326 vaccination centers.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 665 persons, 32 patients died, 898 persons recovered. There have been conducted 50,593 testings (23,612 using the PCR method, 7,968 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 19,013).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 2,270,226 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 2,199,118 people recovered;
  • 53,368 people died;
  • 11,749,847 testings have been conducted.
