Update on the spread and prevention of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of January 17, 2022, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 8,558 (811 children out of this number, 304 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 29,453,298 vaccines have been made.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 15,022,924 people have been vaccinated. On January 17, 2022, 80,921 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 13,429 – CoronaVac vaccine, 58,083 – Comirnaty vaccine, 2,230 – AstraZeneka, 0 – Janssen, Moderna – 7,179.

Vaccination was carried out by 765 mobile immunization teams, 3,175 vaccination points and 440 vaccination centers. 

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1,125 persons, 188 patients died, 5,761 persons recovered. There have been conducted 79,696 testings (37,678 using the PCR method, 5,619 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 36,399).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 3,768,088 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 3,561,923 people recovered;
  • 98,549 people died;
  • 17,220,495 testings have been conducted.
