Update on the spread and prevention of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of December 16, 2021 in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 8,899 (779 children out of this number, 98 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 27,137,674 vaccines have been made.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 14,312,996 people have been vaccinated. On December 16, 2021, 132,991 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 44,318 – CoronaVac vaccine, 62,028 – Comirnaty vaccine, 11,666 – AstraZeneka, 0 – Janssen, Moderna – 14,979.

Vaccination was carried out by 869 mobile immunization teams, 3,338 vaccination points and 463 vaccination centers.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 2,028 persons, 328 patients died, 21,650 persons recovered. There have been conducted 77,707 testings (33,652 using the PCR method, 7,824 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 36,231).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 3,597,046 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 3,306,465 people recovered;
  • 92,641 people died;
  • 16,439,563 testings have been conducted.
