  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of August 16, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 890 (81 children out of this number, 10 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

    The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign7,584,403 vaccines have been made.

    Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 4,793,100 people have been vaccinated. On August 16, 2021, 123,637 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 40,873 – CoronaVac vaccine, 45,700 – Comirnaty vaccine, 6,304 – AstraZeneka, 1,000 – Janssen, Moderna – 29,760.

    Vaccination was carried out by 804 mobile immunization teams, 2,755 vaccination points and 324 vaccination centers.

    During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 379 persons, 27 patients died, 433 persons recovered. There have been conducted 47,429 testings (21,347 using the PCR method, 7,655 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 18,427).

    During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

    • 2,267,219 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
    • 2,197,508 people recovered;
    • 53,296 people died;
    • 11,699,182 testings have been conducted.
