Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of August 9, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 781 (37 children out of this number, 28 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign6,678,726 vaccines have been made.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 4,220,770 people have been vaccinated. On August 9, 2021, 140,008 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 31,131 – CoronaVac vaccine, 53,103 – Comirnaty vaccine, 6,836 – AstraZeneka, 0 – Janssen, Moderna – 48,938.

Vaccination was carried out by 879 mobile immunization teams, 2,646 vaccination points and 310 vaccination centers.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 335 persons, 24 patients died, 1,390 persons recovered. There have been conducted 44,553 testings (21,705 using the PCR method, 7,698 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 15,150).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 2,260,232 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 2,192,592 people recovered;
  • 53,124 people died;
  • 11,559,179 testings have been conducted.
