  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of 9:00 a.m. on June 5, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 25,964 COVID-19 cases, 762 patients died, 11,372 people recovered. During the 24 hours, 553 new cases have been confirmed.

    A total of 403,551 samples in Ukraine were tested using PCR method and 33,826 samples using ELISA method.

    In total 1,859 cases among children and 4,963 cases among healthcare workers were recorded. 18,124 patients, out of this number 1,556 children and 4,028 medical workers have been undergoing outpatient treatment. A total of 7,840 people were hospitalized, including 303 children and 935 healthcare workers. There are 298 people, including 1 child and 29 healthcare workers, having severe symptoms and undergoing treatment with the use of artificial lung ventilation machines.

    As of June 5, coronavirus disease was registered:

    • Vinnytsia region – 1,093 cases (697 recovered);
    • Volyn region – 1,008 cases (294 recovered);
    • Dnipropetrovsk region - 960 cases (397 recovered);
    • Donetsk region - 195 cases (119 recovered);
    • Zhytomyr region - 855 cases (482 recovered);
    • Zakarpattia region – 1,280 cases (551 recovered);
    • Zaporizhia region – 477 cases (280 recovered);
    • Ivano-Frankivsk region – 1,507 cases (893 recovered);
    • Kirovohrad region - 538 cases (413 recovered);
    • Kyiv – 3,292 cases (876 recovered);
    • Kyiv region – 1,711 cases (472 recovered);
    • Lviv region – 1,988 cases (492 recovered);
    • Luhansk region - 51 cases (43 recovered);
    • Mykolaiv region - 307 cases (188 recovered);
    • Odesa region - 970 cases (329 recovered);
    • Poltava region - 272 cases (255 recovered);
    • Rivne region – 1,962 cases (1,039 recovered);
    • Sumy region - 188 cases (155 recovered);
    • Ternopil region – 1,233 cases (963 recovered);
    • Kharkiv region – 1,196 cases (474 recovered);
    • Kherson region – 179 cases (165 recovered);
    • Khmelnytsky region - 501 cases (306 recovered);
    • Chernivtsi region – 3,519 cases (1,079 recovered);
    • Cherkasy region - 432 cases (334 recovered);
    • Chernihiv region - 250 cases (76 recovered).

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
